The City of Buena Park enjoys gorgeous weather illuminating a diverse family community dedicated to productivity in fruitful commerce for residents' benefit, as robust tourism and lodging as well retail car sales revenue gives amenity to California's singularly sought after suburban quality of life found here.
Buena Park's citizens enjoy neighborhood control over several school board districts. The Buena Park School District feeds directly into the Fullerton Joint Union High School District, while Centralia, Cypress, Magnolia, and Savanna School Districts feed into the Anaheim Union High School District. Buena Park youth attend only one secondary school within city limits, the eponymous Buena Park High School. Kennedy, Savanna, Sunny Hills and Western High Schools educate BP adolescents in the adjacent cities of Anaheim, Fullerton and La Palma nearby.
The city operates at least twelve community parks and a summer youth aquatics program. One of the largest, Ralph Clark Regional Park is more than one hundred acres nestled against the Coyote Hills and shared with BP's neighboring City of Fullerton. Golfers enjoy the Los Coyotes Country Club with twenty seven holes of finely manicured greens set against the area's beautiful rolling foothills. Locals enjoy the tennis and fitness facilities, dining at the course as respite from the bustle of the day. The grounds annually regularly host events including weddings.
Presumptively named in honor of the park surrounding an artesian well at the present day intersection of Artesia Avenue and Beach Boulevard, the City of Buena Park was founded from almost seven hundred acres James Whitaker purchased in 1887. Knott's Berry Farm, America's first theme park, opened in 1920 to entertain those patrons waiting for the privilege of dining on Mrs. Knott's famous chicken dinners. For almost one century, Knott's Berry Farm and the exact replica of Independence Hall built by Mr. Knott has been a pre-eminent resort destination for vacationers, who along with residents also enjoy the adjacent one-million square foot mall. Several other entertainment venues have opened around Knott's including Medieval Times, Pirates' Dinner Adventure and the Movieland Wax Museum. Buena Park has carved out for itself an entertainment destination rivaling that of neighbor Anaheim in Orange County, California.
