About San Clemente Southwest
Internationally renowned for idyllic weather and picture perfect scenery, the City of San Clemente's coastline features hills and mountains jettisoning crashing seascape here found rising from shores below to heights offering some of the most breathetaking panoramic vistas available in all Southern California. Orange County's "Spanish Village by the Sea" has been frequented by millions of tourists and several world leaders enjoying leisure in paradise over numerous generations.
San Clemente's famous beaches include Trestles to the south where legendary surfing may be enjoyed at "Lower Trestles." T-street beach between San Clemente Pier and Califia State Beach is another local swimmers' favorite for its crystal clear waters and excellent body boarding. Also well-known is "Cotton's" surf spot so named for major Democratic Party booster H.H. Cotton's original bluff top residence overlooking that break where he entertained the likes of FDR. Indeed by the late 1960's, former President Dick Nixon would make San Clemente internationally known as home to the Western White House when he purchased that residence from Cotton's widow, redubbing it "La Casa Pacifica."
Award winning Capistrano Unified School District operates seven elementary, four intermediate and namesake San Clemente High School educating almost thirty-five hundred youth from San Clemente as well neighboring Capistrano Beach and San Juan Capistrano. San Clemente also enjoys several esteemed private schools including Talega Prepatory (K-12); Heritage Christian (K-12); Creekside Christian (K-12); St. Michael's Christian Academy (PK-12); Our Saviors Lutheran (PK-5); and Our Lady of Fatima (K-8).
San Clemente is home to one of California's largest new master planned communities: "Talega's" thirty-five hundred acres will have about the same number of residences situated among nineteen neighborhoods comprised of detached housing, condominiums and apartments. All architecture is uniformly finished in Spanish-Tuscan themed styling and all manner of activity abounds nearby including an 18-hole golf course, swimming and athletic clubs, eight parks, mountain trails access as well San Clemente State Beach a few miles away! Nearby Northrop-Grumman still maintains the High Altitude Test Stand (HATS) Talega facility where the Lunar Module Descent Engines were tested in the 1960's and currently where lasers, rockets and optical systems are tested to this day.
Downtown, visitors and residents alike enjoy the San Clemente Pier & Amtrak Rail Stop. Visitors travel here to enjoy fresh seafood fare at the Fisherman's Wharf or French gastronomic delights at Café Mimosa where diners revel in sumptuous reasonably priced epicurean cuisine. Visible from pier, nearby "Casa Romantica" was listed on the national register of historic places 1991 as city father Ole Hanson's original family home. Owned today by the San Clemente Redevelopment Agency, Casa Romantica's beautiful oceanfront surroundings play host to numerous cultural events, weddings and special engagements throughout the year.
On November 23, 1604, Spanish explorer Sebastian Vizcaino sailed his flagship San Diego to the waters off California's southernmost Channel Island, naming that slight sliver of land "San Clemente" after Saint Clement, whose feast day was occurring that night. Almost 325 years later, Ole Hanson, the former "Bull Moose Party" "law and order" mayor of Seattle (resigning twenty-four months into his first term after receiving 1919 anachists' mail bomb), purchased two-thousand acres with Hamilton Cotton's led syndicate thus establishing San Clemente by the sea. The first sign of Orange County's now settled master planned community pre-eminence came when Mayor Hanson took the tremendously innovative step of placing exclusive restrictions on all San Clemente deeds requiring Spanish architectural influence uniformity by way of pre-construction architectural reviews of all plans. Mayor Hanson's visionary leadership would enhance San Clemente's long term property values.

About Michelle Risser
Michelle was born and raised in the Midwest until age 8. She has lived in California ever since. Michelle has lived her entire adult life in Orange County. What a great place to live! Michelle was a small business owner for 12 years in an industry that supported the legal, law enforcement, and insurance industries. During this time, Michelle began buying and selling real estate her own real estate. She became frustrated because often times, as a consumer, she knew more than agent that was representing me.
